Responsibilities
 

Community Services in the county department that deals with the social service needs of county residents. The needs may be related to service needs for persons with disabilities, emergency financial assistance, or substance abuse.

The department provides the following:

• Central Point of Coordination (CPC) for service needs and funding for persons with mental illness, mental retardation, or other development disabilities.

• Targeted Case Management, which provides assessment, referral and coordination services for persons with disabilities.

• General Assistance, which can provide temporary or emergency financial assistance to residents who are indigent or in crisis.

• Friendship Club & Faith in Action, a program which provides a social and educational center for persons with mental illness and volunteer supports for persons with disabilities.

• Substance Abuse funding for indigent persons needing detoxification.
