Friendship Club & Faith in Action |
Friendship Club Friendship Club is a socialization and educational center for persons with mental illness. The program provides rehabilitative skill training to assist persons in recovery. The Clubhouse is located at 602 S. Oak St. in Iowa Falls and is open on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30am to 4:30pm. A Friendship Lunch is served every Wednesday and is open to all members. The lunch on the first Wednesday of each month is a member potluck. Membership is open to anyone with a mental illness who lives in Hardin County, is receiving treatment, and is willing to participate and support the program. Anyone interested in joining may visit the Clubhouse or contact the Hardin County Community Services office in Eldora. |
Faith in Action With a grant through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Hardin County developed a Faith in Action program. The program is supported by a coalition of area churches, civic, and human service organizations. FIA recruits caring volunteers to offer support to persons with mental illness and mental retardation. FIA volunteers provide assistance and companionship on a one to one basis or by helping with group activities at the Friendship Club. Persons wishing to volunteer or those requesting a FIA friend may contact Brenda Crabb, FIA/Clubhouse Coordinator at 641-648-7500. Faith in Action Advisory Board |
