Accommodation Fees

When an offender goes to Court for sentencing, they sometimes have two choices:

1. Go directly to jail from sentencing or
2. Wait for a period of time to get personal matters in order.

If the offender goes directly to jail from sentencing, there is no accommodation and that person is not charged a fee. If the offender is allowed to defer his surrender date until later, he or she is subject to a $30 per day accommodation fee. A day is defined as a 24-hour period or any portion thereof.

Sergeant Dennis Beadle should be contacted at 641-939-8194 regarding serving deferred sentences and any questions regarding the accommodation fees. Please note that it is normally the facility's practice to deny service to anyone who is required to pay accommodation fees but is unable to pay at the time of service. If this is the case, persons who are not financially able to pay should make all arrangements necessary with Sergeant Beadle prior to surrender. Any accommodation accounts past due are subject to collections including further Court action.
