All of the correctional officers working in the facility have a variety of background and educational experiences. Many of the officers have been with this or other agencies for a considerable period of time. These career oriented officers provide a valuable asset from both a professional and solid base perspective.

Other officers are recruited or accepted from various educational facilities including Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. These entry level officers may be geared more towards a future patrol or investigative career, however find corrections to be a valuable step in achieving their long term goal. These transitional officers provide a valuable asset from a progressive, learning, and enthusiastic perspective.

As this facility accepts a wide variety of detainees from extensively different backgrounds and histories, it is vitally important that our officer staff is just as varied in their approach. As their administrator, I am proud of each and every officer working within this department and wish to commend them for their dedication to the facility and their attributes to Hardin County.
