Typically three permits are needed in Hardin County when building a new home:
Driveway permits must be obtained from the Engineer's Office. Check with the city hall if you are building within an incorporated town. |

| You can obtain a 911 address by contacting the Sheriff's Office at 61-939-8189. |
| Q. Do I need a permit to build a structure other than a home? |
| Yes. Hardin County requires that a permit be obtained before any structure is erected, altered, constructed, reconstructed, or moved. |

Once the permit to build has been issued, no further inspections are needed. Hardin County does not have a building inspector. |
